GUITARS VOCALS

Four decades in, and Michael still hasn’t picked just one lane. Guitarist, vocalist, songwriter, producer, and phenomenal mixing/mastering engineer, he’s worked with Mary Wilson of The Supremes, Jean-Luc Ponty, and Jon Anderson of YES, with music placed in film and TV worldwide. A Taylor Guitars endorsed artist with his own signature guitar line, he arranges every song the band plays live, and brings in top Nashville players—drums, bass, occasional horns—to round out the recordings.

Onstage, he’s the one cracking jokes between songs. Offstage, he’s the reason the van never runs out of laughs. And here’s the twist fans never see coming: Michael isn’t a sibling in this band—he’s the dad. Bridgette and Jordan are his kids—no big reveal needed, the musical talent kind of gives it away.

VOCALS

Bridgette grew up in Music City in the most literal sense, napping through recording sessions in her dad’s studio before she could walk. She never stopped singing—and that instinct grew into a voice built for Whitney Houston and Celine Dion-level power, with real blues grit to match. In 16-plus years as a pro, she’s earned an American Idol Golden Ticket, callbacks from The Voice and America’s Got Talent, and performed with the Spokane Jazz Orchestra for crowds of 20,000.

She’s also the heart of the group—the one who notices what everyone needs before they ask, and who’s known for cooking real meals on the road. Behind the scenes, Bridgette is a sharp, gifted audio engineer and vocal producer at the family’s Song Mill Studio, bringing the same ear to everyone else’s tracks that she brings to her own.

KEYBOARDS

Jordan took to music like a duck to water. He grew up hanging around his dad’s musician friends in the Nashville studio, and by age three he’d found the grand piano—and, the story goes, never hit a wrong note. His keyboard hero is Lyle Mays of the Pat Metheny Group, and that jazz-fusion sensibility—chasing the right note over the easy one—anchors his playing in One Street Over today.

His creative streak doesn’t stop at the keys. Jordan picked up a camera before he was a teenager and never put it down—he’s now an award-winning photographer and has shot every music video the band has released. Quiet, dry-witted, and quick with the perfectly timed one-liner, he’s the band’s resident color commentator, on the road and off.

FROM NASHVILLE TO NOW.

Three chapters. One name. A musical story carried from Nashville into a new generation.

The original seven-member One Street Over band in Nashville, Tennessee, in 1999

01 LATE 1990s · NASHVILLE

THE BEGINNING — NASHVILLE

One Street Over began in Nashville in the late 1990s when Michael Lewis formed the first band under the name. From the beginning it was an ambitious live lineup—a four-piece band expanded with three horn players.

A NEW GENERATION

After relocating from Nashville to the Spokane area, One Street Over entered a new chapter as Michael began performing with Bridgette, bringing a new generation into the band. Their musical partnership grew through duo performances and full-band shows, with Bridgette quickly emerging as the unmistakable lead voice of OSO. This photo captures Michael and Bridgette onstage at Bluz at the Bend in Spokane, a much-loved local music venue.

ONE STREET OVER TODAY

When Jordan was old enough to join the band on keyboards, the current musical nucleus of One Street Over came together: Michael, Bridgette and Jordan Lewis.

Today, One Street Over performs in configurations ranging from the core trio to full-band concert lineups, carrying the name and musical spirit that began years earlier in Nashville into a new generation.
